Argireline (Acetyl hexapeptide-3)
Argireline is a peptide composed of six amino acids. It is a powerful anti-aging ingredient. Although it acts via a mechanism similar to that of botulinum toxin, the reason it is getting more popular is that it is effective when applied topically unlike Botox that has to be injected underneath the skin. Moreover, it is less expensive than Botox and relatively safer as well. Argireline is a mimic of the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 which competes with the SNARE complex, thereby modulating its formation. When the SNARE complex is slightly destabilized, the vesicle cannot dock and release neurotransmitters efficiently and therefore muscle contraction is suppressed, preventing the formation of lines and wrinkles, especially in the forehead and around the eyes.
Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-1
Also known as SNAP-8, it reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes. It acts by inhibiting SNARE complex and modulation of catecholamine release in chromaffin cells.
It is a synthetic peptide based around octapeptide-3, a peptide complex composed of aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glutamine, and methionine. It reduces deepness of wrinkles formed from repetitive facial expressions.

It has been shown to decrease skin roughness by 13%, reduce wrinkle volume by 36%, and decrease wrinkle depth by 27% after four months of twice daily applications on the face and neck.
